How do I install Fromly on Mac?

Download the .dmg file from our website, open it and drag Fromly to your Applications folder. Starting from version 9.4.4, updates are automatic — a notification appears in Fromly's bottom bar and installs with one click.

Is there an iPhone app?

Yes. Fromly for iPhone is available on the App Store. It syncs in real time with your Mac.

Where are my notes stored?

Your notes are stored locally on your device. Sync between Mac and iPhone goes through Fromly's private server, encrypted in transit. You can export everything in standard Markdown at any time from Settings → Export.

How does sync work?

Fromly syncs in real time between Mac and iPhone via a private server. Open the app on any device and your changes are already there. It doesn't use iCloud Drive. Requires an active account (free).

How do I set up AI?

With a subscription (€7/mo), AI is ready with no configuration — includes 2M tokens/month. With a lifetime license, go to Settings → AI, paste your API key from Anthropic, OpenAI or Google, and choose your model.

Are my notes sent to external servers?

Only the fragment relevant to your query is sent to the AI provider's API (Anthropic, OpenAI or Google) at the moment of processing. Nothing is stored on AI servers. Note sync goes to our private server, encrypted.

Which AI providers does Fromly support?

Anthropic (Claude Haiku), OpenAI (GPT) and Google (Gemini). With a subscription you use Fromly's managed model. With a lifetime license you choose your provider and model.

How do I connect Apple Calendar?

Fromly requests Calendar access permission when you open the app for the first time. Once granted, your events appear in the day timeline and you can create events directly from Fromly.

How do I sync with Google Docs?

Fromly the action bar of any note, click the Google Docs button. The first time it will ask for Google authorization. Once connected, the note content syncs with the document automatically.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel at any time from your account or directly in the app at Settings → Account. Cancellation is immediate and no further charges apply.

How do I delete my account?

Send an email to hello@fromly.app with the subject "Account deletion request". We will delete all associated data from our server. Your local notes are not affected.
